One improvement alternative was evaluated along Hillside Drive that focuses on improving bicycle and pedestrian connectivity between nearby neighborhoods and adjacent corridors.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements
The proposed alternative includes new sidewalk and sidepath facilities along Hillside Drive:

A 10‑foot shared‑use sidepath along the north side of Hillside Drive

A 5‑foot sidewalk along the south side of Hillside Drive
These facilities would:

Connect to 9th Street to the west

Continue along Hillside Drive

Connect to 27th Street to the east
Trail Connections
In addition to east–west connectivity, the proposed 10‑foot sidepath would also connect to a future neighborhood trail planned to run north–south from Hillside Drive into surrounding neighborhoods.
